Joe is a visual artist, educator, and designer based in San Francisco, CA.
He is an artist working in pencil, pen, paint, and thread, and his work ranges from intricately detailed representational works to gestural abstracts. Much of Joe’s work is inspired by the natural world, drawing reference from scientific illustration and the beauty of the San Francisco Bay Area landscape. His diverse collections are united by a close attention to detail and a love of the moment of transition: the shift from stillness to movement, from day to night, and from sea to sky to land.
In addition to his creative pursuits, Joe is an educator and learning experience designer. He recently completed a graduate degree in Learning Design & Technology from the Stanford Graduate School of Education, which united his passion for learning with his love of design.
