Hey there, it’s Joe. Thanks for checking out my portfolio. My work ranges from detailed scientific illustrations done in ink and paint on paper, to large acrylics on canvas, to textiles and thread work in 3 dimensions. Pivoting from one style to another keeps the work fresh and novel; it keeps me engaged, learning, and enjoying my art practice. I’ve been asked when I’m going to settle down into one consistent subject matter, and I hope the answer is never. I love starting something new and different.
However, there are elements that unite all my collections: an obsession with detail, negative space that lets my subjects breathe, favorite palettes that return again and again, and subjects that I love.
