Sandpipers
30 x 40” acrylic on canvas, framed in solid wood.
I think one of the reasons I’ve been so drawn to birds in my work over the past year is because they can cross the boundaries between land and sky and ocean so quickly and easily. These sandpipers are so fun to watch tip-toeing along the surf line.
It’s funny how bird watching can just kinda sneak up on us as we age, right? One minute I’m going about my life as usual and the next thing I know I’m looking up the calls and subspecies of sandpipers entirely un-ironically.
